I'm having trouble activating my software

To activate our newer software (iDefrag 5 and later, or iPartition 3.5 and later), please:

  1. Locate the appropriate license email.
  2. Move your mouse pointer over the license image in the e-mail (for iDefrag, licenses are usually blue; for iPartition, they are usually purple).
  3. Hold the left mouse button (or the only mouse button, on a one-button mouse).
  4. Move the mouse pointer over the licensing window.
  5. Release the mouse button.

These instructions should work for 99% of e-mail clients (even webmail systems), though there are a small handful where you might need to save the image as an attachment, in which case the e-mail software should already know that it’s a PNG file and should be saved as a .png. We can’t give instructions for that case, because we don’t know which e-mail system you’re using — but the makers of the e-mail software should already provide instructions on how to save an attachment.

The only other thing worth noting is that it is possible to print the license or even grab a screen capture of it, and then use that as your license — in which case it can be in any image file format (JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF and so on) that the operating system supports.

For older versions of our products, you will need the license details you were given when you purchased. This is either a username and password, or a license key starting CORS- (or, for Japanese customers, NETJ-).
